Laser Eye Surgery Hapi Drumming

After going trough some high tech laser eye surgery, being in pain and very sensitive to light, I hide away from the beautiful spring weather, listening instead of seeing. I was lucky enough to receive a Hapi drum just before the surgery, this one is in the D Akebono scale. The hapi is a steel tank with slots of different sizes cut out to create a range of tones. It sounds better being played more gently than done here, but at the time it felt appropriate to be banging away on it! A piece of cloth was used to dampen it slightly, preventing all the tones from ringing at once. Oh, and by the way, the fancy Hapi-light is not a standard accessory…

I hope your eyes got better now

I like you so much!
I just love your music!

great my friend!!the music you make is really nice….do u know how much does a hapi drum and a sansula kalimba cost?

klart supersnyggt med ljusen!! a keeper

tycker rytmen är skön, jag har bara sett den, för jag har inget ljud på jobbet
men det märks att det kommer ut en hel del behövligt genom händerna där mannen

ska lyssna då jag kommer hem

Sounding nice already Staffan, I think maybe we’ll have to add the light-show effects into the Hapi Drum now :) Hope you eyes are feeling a little better now too. — John
