My mother is having eye surgery and will be off one month can she collect unemployment?
Mom will be having eye surgery and will be off one month . . . and yes she does work for Walmart. Can she collect unemployment while she is off during this time? I will be checking with EDD also, but some of you are more experienced than the people who work there and can get a better answer from my fellow ANSWERS than from them.

No, she will be off work, but not unemployed. Unless she has totally lost her job during that time, which I doubt. If she’s eligible to keep her job through FMLA, that’s the best bet.
