I am 20 years old and wear contacts and glasses. At the moment, I am choosing not to get LASIK and hope that others do the same. If PERFECT VISION is what you want than glasses will provide this in almost all cases. If COSMETIC reasons concern you, spend some time trying different contact lenses. Contacts will allow you to have perfect vision, and after a few weeks you will get used to the way they feel. If you MUST get LASIK I ask you to wait. There is NO RUSH! see what the long term effects are

Hi lasikruinedme, I’m miyopia -8 right, and -9 left eye, and I investigated lasik..And decided not to have this operation. I’m happy with my glasses and contact lenses..Please continue to write for informing people..

Apparently once you get this done once you have to do it again when ur at the age of 40 becuase your eyes will begin to change…

I’m sorry you had a bad experience but statistically it is very safe. We wouldn’t stop driving because a few people get hurt in car accidents because the chances are so small. If the chance of getting hurt in a car crash doesn’t stop you from getting in a car then the chances of complications from this procedure should not stop you either. LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE.

really ive watched a billion or this videos and this one is the only one where they use that brush to remove the outer lyer thats the only part im the most woried about cause all the othe places look like there just scaping it off and using some wired stuff to eat at the film do u or any body have anything insuring about all this

The truth is that it is a little freaky.. i mean someone is touching your eyes it is freaky.. i did this one month ago though and i have to say that it is 0 pain. you may feel a bit unconfortable but it is just for some minutes nothing special.. Ahh and dont worry about blinking . they spill water or something on your eyes every now and then so that you would not need to blink :P and even if you try to blink you cant i tried once :P.. Anyway it is worth doing it :D

@lasikruinedme Do you just go around writing the same thing on all lasik videos? you should get a life merry christmas.

Hi Kathy, Just did this a week ago and it’s painless. Being awake wasn’t a problem, they explain every step they take. I was happy that i could follow everything! Good luck with your decision!

is it possible to do this unconcious? ( i kno i spelt wrong)
Becuz i dont wanna do it when im awake.
i get freaked out

doctors are not telling you the whole truth about lasik side effect percentages or of what may happen to you in the future. did your doc tell you about his previous patients with complications? I don’t think so. this is a dangerous ellective procedure with serious complications that are downplayed by the surgeons. if driving or flying was a dangerous to your health as lasik is nobody would be driving or flying. My eyes were destroyed by lasik doctor Keon Nia.

I was wondering where you had this procedure done? In Victoria?

the women talking sounds like sharah palin

srry I ment prk

hi there I dont understand the white bruse is the rpk??? thx for this amazing vid its helps me decide what eye surgery to do thx :)

o you mean the toothbrush looking thing?

Thats funny!! The scraping part was at the very beginning.

lmao the laser sounded kinda like a rave was going on

btw where was the scraping part, or did i just miss it?

This one is taking a long time. I just had this done today and mine was a lot faster.. it was over before I new it.

its called the pupil…..

Watch my follow up video. I answer this question

Is Lasik better or PRK? What’s the difference in the purpose of making a corneal flap versus scraping part of it off?

The black part of your eye starts getting bigger and smaller at about 2:40 O_O. creepy

Check out my followup video I just posted. I tell you all about the procedure and any recovery times and negative aspects. 4 years later everything is great and I would still highly recommend the procedure.

No, bladeless or conventional LASIK both create a flap. PRK simply burns through the outer layer.

PRK is used by the US Navy and US Air Force instead of LASIK for a number of reasons.

1.) There is no flap with PRK, which is the cause of most complications.

2.) Without a flap, there is no risk of the flap dislodging during strenuous activity.

3.) PRK poses less risk of chronic dry eye and “ghosting.”
