Surviving Eye Surgery (Chalazion)
This is the story about how I survived eye surgery. The medical explanation: A chalazion is a lump in the eyelid that is caused by inflammation of a gland within the skin. Typically, this lump grows over days to weeks and is occasionally red, warm, or painful. (mine was not painful) The gland involved in the formation of a chalazion is a modified sweat gland that lies within the eyelid. This gland produces oil. When this gland becomes blocked, it can rupture and the inflammation process begins. Inflammation is a process in which the body reacts to a condition and produces a biologic reaction. This reaction can cause swelling, redness, pain, or warmth. A chalazion is not a sty. A sty can resemble a chalazion in the sense that it is also a lump in the eyelid. However, a sty involves glands and eyelash hair follicles that are closer to the skin surface of the eyelid. In addition, a sty is usually more painful and looks infected.

this is shit man, i´ve got to get surgery aswell., what you should do is use some wet hot/warm compression (some sort of bandage for wounds) , put that on your chalazion two or 3 times a day, and it should go away. though if it doesnt work, you´ll need surgery.

Same here. I hate having to put makeup on it but the thing is SO emberassing!
really im 14 too and im having to get mine removed soon. i think im gonna just get put to sleep though so i dont have to worry about it some other videos on here made my stomach turn.
well the swelling takes about a week to go down apparently, and my lump was pretty huge
yeah, i tried to hide mine with make up ;____;
does anyone know if i can wear makeup in about 2 days time? i’m going on a school trip….
omg there still a lump there so doesnt the op make the lump totally go??? for nw i hide my lump with makeup which is on top of my eyelid. no1 notice it till i told them
well my lump was really big, and it was SO SWOLEN but it went down like really really quickly. there’s still a lump there now, but it’s smaller than it was, so i’m hoping it goes down. i’m going on a school trip on monday! haah
what do u mean u hope it goes down has ur sweling gone ? how long does it take to recover. i got my surgery 23rd march long tym away lol
dont be scared, i had one today and i didnt feel anything! i just hope it goes down!
im gettin this eye surgery coz i hav a Chalazion im so scared in United Kingdom we dnt have to pay fees coz it omes out of our taxes for any operations unless u wana go private
@abiiNg aawh! idk whenim getting my surgery now, my doctor switched me to another doctor & now i have to wait longer. i really just wanna have the surgery & get over with it.

i dont know, march? or next month. not sure yet. YES! me too. my dr. is very very nice. & telling me that its just a minor problem. he is? i want to sleep during the surgery too, but i know i’ll surely wake up. its no use. lol:))
@abiiNg omg! when? im going doctors next week & my doctor is going to talk to me about the procedures&my doctor is being nice to me & is letting me fall asleep through the surgery… but not yet.

I was VERY scared too, but I had to get it done so I did it and If I get another one I would do it no problem. It’s okay to be scared, but after it’s done you’ll be very happy.
