What to make for my friends son after eye surgery?

My friends son is having surgery Duane’s syndrome/ Bilateral Medial Rectus Recession today, it’s an eye movement disorder. I really want to send him something, like a get well package, just a card and maybe a homemade book or something. Also I was wondering how long it take to recover from this type of surgery? Is there something else I could send him that would be better to give him other than a book? Maybe bake and send cookies or muffins? I want it to be something my kids and I can make together for him.

Perhaps an audio-book would be easier for him to enjoy. A selection of baked goods is a great way to involve your children in helping their friend recover.

Considering he is having eye surgery, I wouldn’t give him a book that he wont be able to read. Id stick with maybe some balloons and a card with maybe a little basket of toys.
